At the foot of the San Grabriel Mountains and the Angeles National Forest, Altadena is a community of mature landscapes and beautiful scenic vistas. Many of the residential landscapes here embrace the notion of native-style plantings and mature canopy trees to provide a very distinctive local environment.

ESA ’s focus was to ensure the compatibility of the landscape within the surrounding neighborhood context and also to appeal to the precise color and texture desires of the clients. The existing landscape of foundation hedge plantings and minimal color was replaced with a rich color pallette of golden yellows and gentle purples in a sea of waving grasses and fragrant groundcovers.Plantings were chosen to ensure textural variation and a seasonal rotation of color displayed through-out the year.
